Do you read books on sewing ??

I sometimes feel guilty for owning too many DIY and sewing books. Flipping the pages for inspiration and making a lot of projects from them is my favourite passtime. Let me reveal the good news right here. I had this idea from a long time and today I am posting about it as I shall start the Sew Book Inspired Series on my blog :)
I shall write detailed posts on each and every project that I make from the sewing books. This is going to be of help to the other home sewers to get an idea of what is in the book and how well the book can help us in sewing or pattern drafting.

Each post shall have details on how the instructions in the book were and other pros and cons. After I make at least two projects form the book I shall write a review on the content of the entire book. Watch out this page for more details. I will update all the links here so this becomes a kind of an index to browse through :).
The list keeps growing so watch out. (each link opens in a new tab)

Projects from the book Burdastyle Sewing Handbook

Projects from the book Sew Serendipity

Projects from the book Sewing Vintage modern

Projects form the book The Sewing Book

Projects form the book Design It Yourself Clothes

Projects form the book Feminine wardrobe

You liked this idea ? Feel free to grab any one of the buttons below and add to your side blog:)

I also have some more good news for you:)I have started a sewing books link party at my blog!! Hooray..This is going to be a link party to inspire any seamstress to browse sewing books.

  3. Hi Diya, I'm a silent reader of your blog. I love the idea of sewing my clothes and your projects are so inspiring.. Can you please suggest a sewing book for beginners with some interesting projects in it. Thanks so much in advance :)

    1. Hi Priyanka , Nice to know that my creations inspires you. To get most out of a sewing book , I feel one must have had the advanced beginner kind of experiences in sewing.Because most of the times books dont give all the information and it can be frustrating if we dont find the book useful after paying a lot for the price.
For beginning I shall suggest Sewing machine basics by Jane Bolsover. It is a good book for getting started.

I love your comments:)
